On the occasion of the upcoming 2025 Spring Festival, in order to express the college's care for international students who remain on campus during the Spring Festival and to enrich their winter vacation life, our college counselors Gao Zhineng and Xiao Jiaotian jointly organized New Year activities such as making dumplings, wontons, and rice dumplings for the undergraduate international students of 2023 and 2024-intake majoring in civil engineering at Siyuan Pavilion on the Sanjiang Campus.

Cai Jinbao, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Center (International Education College), and Huang Yingmin, Assistant Dean, visited the international students staying on campus. They distributed rice dumplings to the international students, taught them how to make dumplings, shared lunch with everyone, and extended festive greetings.

Chef Qiu from Siyuan Pavilion Mango Restaurant was invited to teach overseas students how to make dumplings and wonton, and the international students listened with great interest.

Over 20 undergraduate international students majoring in Civil Engineering from the 2023 and 2024-intake cohorts participated in this New Year and Spring Festival celebration event. They hailed from various African countries including Nigeria, Zambia, Tanzania, Gabon, Congo, Ivory Coast, Zimbabwe, Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Sudan, and South Sudan, as well as Asian countries such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. For the new international students of the 2024 class, today marks their first attempt at making dumplings and Wontons. They are diligently and enthusiastically engaged in the task.

This New Year celebration will leave a profound impression on international students, enrich their winter vacation experience, and deepen their understanding of Chinese Spring Festival culture.
